Yesterday we conducted our Artist meeting via Instagram live.  It was a lively one, but limited to four participants at a time, which felt overwhelming and limiting.

The MLC vs Pandora

We discussed the lawsuit between Pandora and the MLC.  Basically the MLC alleges that Pandora's free version does not conform to the requirements to be considered non-interactive streaming.  You can read more at the link below.

Mia Gladstone Royalties

Mia Gladstone, a friend of our friend Justice, is not getting paid any residuals for her feature on a track.  She didn't get a flat fee either.  The track has about 3 million streams.  We went through her options to register with a PRO, SoundExchange and the MLC to get her share.  More to come on this.

Sync Negotiation

Syn discussed the different aspects of sync licensing and what is appropriate when.  Is it exclusive, non-exclusive, flat fee, % of income, etc.  We are looking at ways to incorporate this into the rebel app to allow creators to set what they are looking for and sync licensees to accept or provide a counter offer.
