Last nights event at Major Stage was great. Zoo's performance was fantastic. I appreciate everyone who showed up and am looking forward to doing it again.

Artists Setting Themselves Up
Today we discussed at length why artists need to incorporate themselves as a business. Incorporating as a business while still not profitable can be a good idea for tax reasons. Because you are an artist you can explore tax savings for everything from food & clothing to the space you use to make music. Musicians with a day job can treat their music company as a pass through entity and use expenses as deductions to reduce their taxable income.
Lucas has offered to help and we are looking at putting together a guide. As a reminder Lucas started off in the industry distributing 2-Pac and Biggie New York mixtapes down in Florida. He started a label, signed some excellent artists and has experienced first hand the issues that come from not setting up a music business correctly.
He will but putting together a guide to help. So stay tuned for updates on that.
Rebel Platform
Terry indicated last night that we are looking at 2 more weeks before the rebel platform is ready for use. The first tracks we will put through the system are from our MixTape. These are serving as a test for the three pieces of functionality:
1) Protect It - inputting information once and registering a work across all royalty collection societies
2) Find Out If People Like It - Creating an listening community so that you can share your work with your collaborators and/or fans before it is released
3) Promote It - Distribute your work to all DSPs
Once we will unlock each of these features for Beta testing as soon as we can. Stay tuned for updates.
